In this article, we will discuss five great ideas for a breakfast meal that is perfect for those who have had or are considering bariatric surgery.

1. Porridge

Porridge is a great option for bariatric surgery patients as it is both filling and nutritious. It can be made with either oats or rice and can be flavored with various different toppings such as nuts, seeds, honey, or fruit. Porridge is a good source of fiber, protein, and vitamins A, B, and C. If you find that porridge is a little bland, try adding some fresh fruit to it and stirring in cinnamon or vanilla extract.

Protein shakes are a great option for bariatric surgery patients as they’re quick, easy, and nutritious. They can be taken in the place of solid meals or enjoyed alongside them to help you meet your daily nutrition requirements and even for a pre-op diet. You can purchase this pre-made at most supermarkets or make your own by blending together some milk alternatives, fruit, nuts, and seeds.
