How UV Face Mask is Different from Cotton Mask?

“I believe that the greatest gift you can give your family and the world is a healthy you,” said Joyce Meyer, an American Charismatic Christian author, speaker and president of Joyce Meyer Ministries.

The huge impact of COVID-19 taught everyone the importance of wearing a mask.

The CDC has also declared that people who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask when going outdoor or in a public place. Right now there are different varieties of masks available in the market and every mask has its own use.

Well, to help you understand how a cotton mask is different from a UVmask, here are some reasons suggested by healthcare practitioners.

Let’s start with the normal cotton mask:

The cotton mask is right now the most common mask used by the general public. It is a washable and reusable mask that prevents the wearer from transmission for any infected virus or germs. Also, this mask can prevent both the wearer and others from big particles of water droplets that may contain harmful bacteria. This mask can also be used for medical purposes but remember not to share your mask. But the cotton mask has a limit and it cannot prevent the small particles of size smaller than 0.3 microns that come along with the air, so don’t use them as an anti-pollutant mask.

Now, let’s shift to a UV mask or an Ultraviolet mask:

The UV mask is a bit costly than a normal cotton mask but it’s not just a mask. It is made up of polycarbonate material and the outer layer of the mask is made from silicon to get an air-tight structure over your nose, chin, and mouth. This mask is consists of a double-layer filtration system where the first layer is made of normal plastic and the second layer is similar to an N95 filter that helps to prevent tiny particles that comes along with air when you inhale. The UVmask also consists of UV light that is fitted at the back of the mask to disinfect the virus.

The UV mask is created with a unique set of qualities as it comes with IP54 certification which means that the mask is water, dust, and moisture-proof. The mask is added with 2 Li-polymer batteries with a power of 1,800mAh so that it can continuously filter tiny particles of size smaller than 0.3 microns. The batteries are chargeable so the mask has a USB Type-C slot and you can charge them from your car, pc, or any other way.
